Castan Family Excellence - Grenache Syrah

The Excellence wines are made from grapes grown in the south of France. In the case of this rosé, it's made with Syrah and Grenache grapes from the Pays d'Oc. So, we're in the Languedoc. The blend consists of 60% Syrah and 40% Grenache, hence the large letters S and G on the label. The Syrah gives this rosé body with aromas of violets and spices. The Grenache, on the other hand, provides juiciness and fruitiness: strawberry and ripe plum. In this wine with its light pink color, you'll also taste flavors of peach and citrus fruit. It pairs well with grilled fish, light meat dishes, and spicy dishes from Moroccan, South African, or Asian cuisine.
