Klein Vriend wines are always reasonably priced. They all carry a typical South African label featuring a young animal from the Big Five. In the case of this Chardonnay-Colombard, it's a leopard cub. The Chardonnay and Colombard grapes are grown in the Western Cape. Chardonnay is a grape found all over the world. It produces creamy and full-bodied wines. Colombard, on the other hand, is a bit fresher. This grape originates from southwestern France, where it is also used in the production of Cognac and Armagnac distillates. The wine is slightly creamy with flavors of tropical fruits like mango and pineapple. Delicious with dishes featuring fish, shellfish, or poultry.
